November 1987- December 1993

Ashford & Ashford Financial Services

After graduation with a degree in Economics from Penn State, Robert founded with his father “Ashford & Ashford Financial Services”. With over 500 business clients, Robert developed a strong understanding of what worked for businesses and different business opportunities in the marketplace. Ashford & Ashford was sold in 1994 to fully pursue its manufacturing and distribution business opportunities.

May 1992- October 1994

SpringWay USA

With the sale of Ashford & Ashford, Robert took this knowledge and founded a food distributorship with a distribution center, and delivery network. Here he became acutely aware of the potential for proprietary growth products in the household arena.  With developing accounts such as BJ's, Walmart, and the grocery chains, Robert learn quickly the volume that could be sold in these channels, but the need for a high-profit niche product would be the key to success.  Robert began experimenting with the chemical properties of odor control products, particularly orienting the initial investigations toward pet products, and in 1992 he formed Osmegen to sell products in this arena.  SpingWay was sold to a local food distributor in 1994

May 1992- November 2004

President and Owner of Osmegen Inc.

In 1992, Rob founded the company Osmegen, which achieved global success in the niche market of natural odor-eliminating sprays and gels, possessing products that deodorize both surface and airborne pollutants.   He created the new gel-based deodorizer product line, Natural Magic®, and expanded sales rapidly. In the three years prior to its sale, Osmegen experienced a compounded annual revenue growth rate of 64%.  During this same time period, gross profit margins consistently exceeded 65% with operating margins over 30%.

Continued product improvements in containers, fragrances, packaging, and branding enabled Osmegen to target multiple customer segments throughout the world across multiple retail channels, including QVC, Walgreens, CVS, Home Depot, Wal-mart, and Lowes.

In 2004, Rob sold the company to Homax for a significant premium due to the high EBITDA growth rate.  His former company products can still be found in many of the major retail chains around the US and Europe.  Since 2004, Rob has acted as a consultant to Homax and other companies and has been involved in various consumer products and investment activities.

In 2007 Robert purchased the bank notes on two golf courses as an investment.  Locust Valley Golf Club and Shepherd Hills Golf Club.  With the market crash of 2009, Robert had to foreclose on Locust Valley in 2012 and continued to run the golf course until 2020 while completing a development deal on the land with a developer.  The development received full approvals in October of 2020, and 136 homes are in the process of being built and will be finalized by the end of 2023,

September 2016 - December 2021

Owner of Shepherd Hills Golf Club

As part of the purchase of the bank notes, Shepherd Hills was leased to another operator until 2016, when Robert took over the golf course, banquet facility, and restaurant operation.  Robert worked with the local township to purchase the property's development rights and used those funds to completely renovate the golf course and its food and beverage facilities.  By completing these updates, revenue almost tripled, making the property viable to sell for an attractive number in 2021
